Abstract:
The problem of rendering images with multiple scattering effects is
approached via a discretization of the scattering equation in 5
dimensions (3 spatial + 2 angular). The numerical method described
exhibits a high degree of parallelism and data locality making it
ideally suited for massively parallel computers.
Keywords: atmospheric scattering, global illumination, parallel
rendering, clouds
