1. If something is taking too long to load you can stop it by clicking the "Stop" button at the top right of Netscape.
2. You can usually get back to previous pages by selecting the page from the "Go" menu at the top of the screen.
3. Some of the links (coloured words you click to go to another page) are to pages not at ANU. These are likely to be slow to load and should take second place to those which are located at ANU (which is a lot!). You can see where a link is located by placing the mouse over it and looking at the address at the bottom of the Netscape window. If it doesn't have "anu" in it then it's not at ANU. Worse, if it doesn't have "au" in it, it's not even in Australia.
4. Your Netscape browser should be configured to use the main ANU cache and proxy server. To do this go to "Options/Network Preferences" and view the manual proxy. Set FTP, Gopher and HTTP Proxies to "wwwcache.anu.edu.au" at port 80.
5. Sometimes you will have a suspicion that the page you are looking at is not the present version of that page. Try hitting the "Reload" button. If this doesn't fix matters you will need to clear the memory cache and clear the disk cache. Once again this is done from the "Options/Network Preferences" menu.
