eResearch:
Research in the era of Google - Are you Ready?
|
|
Are you fully automating your research work practises?
Are you making use of technology to organise, discover,
analyse, visualise your critical research information?
Are you able to access other important data to speed
up your research?
| |
|
The brave new world of advanced technologies, open access to
specialised data repositories, powerful computing systems and
networked research infrastructure augments and extends the traditional
environment for University research projects. This new "e-Research"
environment will allow researchers from all disciplines to access new
and faster ways of undertaking research - while also highlighting both
the new challenges and new opportunities.
On 31 October the ANU Supercomputer Facility is hosting a full-day
"eResearch" forum where presenters from exemplar ANU research
projects that are utilising these technologies will describe how they
benefiting from these new eResearch environments. These exemplars
are sourced from, and applicable to, a wide range of research
disciplines. There will also be a description of the steps that the
university is taking to support this type of research activity.
