Introduction
The ANU Supercomputer Facility Vizlab is offering introductory 2-day courses in the Python programming language. Python is a free, interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language combining remarkable power with very clear syntax. - Introductory Python (27-28 March)
- Intended for those with minimal programming experience.
- Contains a gentle introduction to object oriented programming
- Python for Programmers (8-9 April and 15-16 April)
- Intended for those with significant experience programming in another high-level language.
- Will move at a quicker pace than the Intro Course tackling more difficult problems from the start.
- No previous exposure to object-oriented programming is assumed or necessary. However, participants of this course will be writing object-oriented code by the morning of Day 1.
Location and Time
- The course will be held in the Training Lab on the ground floor of Leonard Huxley Building (see map), ANU.
- Course hours are 9:00am - 4:30pm with frequent breaks and lunch by consensus.

Instructor
The course instructor is Darran Edmundson from the ANUSF Visualization Laboratory. Darran has been using Python extensively for both scientific visualization and virtual reality projects such as the National Museum of Australia's interactive children's exhibit, kSpace.
