Conference Attendance and Other Travel
Ms Judy Jenkinson gave a poster presentation on
Optimising FFT BAFFS on the Fujitsu VPP500, at the First
International Conference on Algorithms and Architectures for Parallel
Processing, Brisbane, 18-24 April 1995.
Dr Murray Dow presented a paper on
Matrix Transpose on a Vector Computer,
at the Computational Techniques and Applications Conference at
Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, 6-7 July 1995.
Dr David Singleton attended the Computers and the
Atmospheric Sciences Workshop in Washington DC 13-16 July. Dr
Singleton attended the 7th Annual ACM Symposium on Parallel Algorithms
and Architectures, the 5th ACM SIGPLAN Symposium on Principles
and Practice of Parallel Programming and User Interface Workshop
on Parallel Programming Software at the University of California,
17-22 July.
Mr Drew Whitehouse attended SIGRAPH95 in Los Angeles, California from 6 - 11 August.
Ms Allsman visited IBM Almaden Center, California,
Open Enterprise Systems, California and Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory, Livermore, California in August.
Dr Wielopolski atttended the High Performance Computational
Chemistry Workshop in San Francisco, 13-16 August. and the Molecular
Quantum Mechanics Conference, Cambridge, UK 3 - 7 September.
Dr Rendell was a session chairman at the Molecular
Quantum Mechanics Conference, Cambridge, UK 3-7 September. Dr
Rendell travelled to Japan 25 November to 2 December to complete
work on a VPP system as part of the collaborative project with
Fujitsu.
Dr Margaret Kahn gave a seminar presentation on
A Parallel Algorithm for the Reduction to Tridiagonal Form
for Eigendecomposition, on 5th October at Mathematics Department
, University of Queensland.
Dr Gingold attended International Symposium of
Parallel and Distributed Supercomputing(PDSC6) at Fukuoka
Japan 26 - 29 September and presented a paper on work on the
AP1000 at ANU as well as participating in a panel discussion
parallel computing. He also visited Fujitsu Ltd in Tokyo.
